Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. The singer's career has taken her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even the Democratic National Convention. Her real name is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing as well as playing the piano at church. Her musical career began in Atlanta in Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You the House came out only in Japan. It's been remixed numerous times and has become a staple in her live performance. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was employed to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls the stage show at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
